A rainy and gloomy day here at Yes Bay Lodge but the fishing was another story! The guests had a great day with the variety that was caught along with some solid King action. We saw a consistent size 16-17 pounds for the Kings so it is a good sign that the run is just beginning. Stay tuned for the pics and the peak of the King season!!

It was a bit slow on the King front today as the searching was extensive but they remained elusive as ever. The rockfish were in abundance along with a handful of Halibut. The weather was clear with temperatures in the mid 60's and partly cloudy so the rain gear was stowed away. Even though the Kings have been slow to show up, there is always something to target here at Yes Bay Lodge!

RAIN, RAIN, and MORE RAIN! It was a cold and wet one around here today but the guests still had a great time out on the water. Once again the Kings remained elusive but we had one 12.8# caught on 4# test which took about 20 minutes to land...WHAT A CATCH! The halibut bite was hot today so we saw some real nice halibut hit the dock which ranged from the 10# to the 30# range. Check these pics out from today!!

The weather was still the typical SE weather with rain and a light South wind. It was another productive day as far as the bottom fish with perfect sized halibut hitting the dock. Great fights and great filets for the dinner table!! There were some monsters caught but had to be released due to the slot limit but nonetheless provided a heck of an experience. Check out the pics from another productive day here at YBL...

Another day in paradise here at Yes Bay Lodge! The rain is lingering around and will be for the next week or so but with rain comes action. Some vibrant Kings hit the dock including a gorgeous 26.8# along with the perfect size Halibut and buckets of rockfish. The Kings are are a little late this year so the fishing is starting to heat up and expected to get better throughout the month. Check out the big smiles from today's catches!!!

The bite was hot today here at the lodge!! The Kings were in full force as all the boats produced limits of Kings and Halibut and the guests were absolutely stoked on the catches. The run is in full effect so be sure to check out the pics from today and the remainder of the week!!

The weather was a bit on the nasty side today with a solid SE wind which made the conditions slightly bumpy. The guests battled the weather and produced some real nice fish for their day. We had a large number depart today so only a couple of boats went out so the search was limited. Check out the handful of pics from today's fishing!

It was a great last day for some and just beginning for the others here at Yes Bay Lodge! The Mahoney's were pleased to end their trip on a very successful day along with the Reidinger's just starting to scratch the surface. All the boats produced Kings which is great to see being the bite is still on! Our first Silver hit the dock today so the variety of salmon should be showing up before we know it. The weather was typical SE Alaska conditions with rain, rain, and more rain but nice calm winds throughout the day.

The action was hot today with more limits and fish hitting the dock! It seemed the afternoon was the hot time for the Halibut and the Kings as well along with some good size rocky's. The weather today was scattered showers throughout the area with temperatures in the high 50's so needless to say typical SE. We also had a fly-out today which was a great time for the Reidingers with all the cut-throat that was caught and released. Overall, another great day in the bay!!

The first Pink hit the dock along with two more Silver's so they will soon be in abundance. There were limits upon limits so it was definitely a day to remember as far as the fishing goes. Happy Fourth of July!! Just like last year, this day has produced some monster fish! A 43.8# caught by Henry Liebman started the day off with a bang along with the remaining boats having a haul themselves. To see fish of this size hit the dock is an exciting moment that resonates throughout the season. The fireworks were definitely happening on the boats today with all the great catches we had here at Yes Bay Lodge.

A bit of a slower day on the fishing front today here at the lodge. Very limited Kings and just a handful of some Pink and Silver salmon for the days catch. We expect rain for the coming days so hopefully the change of weather will get the fish running and produce some action for the guests. As they say though, 'the worst day of fishing is still better than the best day of work'!
